From the early days of the Internet boom, phatz.com has served as a way for me to express my creativity and utilize my experience for the benefit of others. Since 1997, phatz.com web design, writing and photography projects have captured a plethora of awards and recognition; and phatz.com has been showcased in both local and national media properties such as the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Ultrarunning Magazine, About.com, Yahoo! and many others; moreover, phatz.com photography proudly took second place in the International Open Photography competition in 2002 amongst a field of thousands of photographers nationwide.
Am I proud? Yes, of course.
But more than that, I am passionate about what I do.
Early in my career, two major roles developed that would shape my future as an Internet professional with a special niche towards brand management. The first was serving as Interactive Director at the Naples Daily News in Naples, Florida and the second as New Media Director for Freebairn and Company full-service advertising agency in Atlanta, Georgia. During these periods, my phatz.com personal project continued to grow beyond my wildest expectations with my reputation and experience developing into some wonderful new clients including venture capitalist companies, PC manufacturers, advertising agencies and non-profit organizations right here in Georgia.
Did you know?
phatz.com was one of the first blogs on the Internet long before the term 'Blog' was ever conceived. Back when online "social networking" really started, we just called them online diaries.
The most significant development would come in July, 2001 when phatz.com was retained by Encore Tickets and the company's related entertainment businesses. On September 11, 2001 --- yes, that day --- the relationship officially blossomed from phatz.com, an Internet consultant to Encore Tickets, to Christian Griffith serving the important role of Chief Technology Officer responsible for all aspects of communication for the company. From e-commerce, networking and development to creative services such as advertising, design and brand management, a number of hats were worn and vast responsibility given. That year, we launched v.2 of the EncoreTickets.com web site and experienced a fun, fast, furious and wildly successful five-year growth explosion worthy of the hard work and dedication.
Finally, in October 2005, While serving as CTO for Encore Tickets, the company participated in a corporate merger with RazorGator based in Los Angeles. Today, RazorGator is the largest secondary market ticket agency in the nation with dynamic partnerships including the NCAA, Yahoo, Expedia, Bank of America and the Rose Bowl.
Nowadays, phatz.com is just - well, what you see here - A simple site designed to showcase my past, present and future. I dissolved phatz.com as a corporation after my first year with Encore Tickets and dove head first into perfecting simplification with regards to SEO, paid search, traditional marketing campaigns and all the geeky coding I could get my hands on. ...and that's where I am today - deep in the muddy trenches of marketing 2.0
